Readings for Auditions- 2012-2013 Season
On Saturday, April 21, 2012, CityRep will hold Equity and non-Equity auditions for the first two shows in our 2012-2013 season, NOVEMBER by David Mamet and THE NORMAL HEART by Larry Kramer. NOVEMBER begins rehearsing on August 2, and the production runs from Sept. 7-23 in the CitySpace Theatre. THE NORMAL HEART begins rehearsing on October 4, and the production run from November 9-18 in the Freede Little Theatre. Auditions will consist of readings from the sides linked below, and are by appointment only. They will be held in the Freede Little Theatre in the Civic Center Music Hall. Turkey Guy – a representative of the National Association of Turkey and Turkey products manufacturers. “A man in a suit.”
Clarice Bernstein – the President’s speech writer, a lesbian

Looking for men between the ages of 20-50 to play the following roles:
Mickey Marcus – Jewish activist friend of Ned’s who works for the NYC Health Department and as a paid writer for various Gay periodicals about what will become know as AIDS (loosely based on Dr. Lawrence D. Mass).
Felix Turner – Ned’s handsome lover/Fashion writer for the NY Times.
Craig Donner – Bruce Niles’ handsome young lover, ill with first signs of Kaposi Sarcoma (based on Jack Nau).
Grady – a volunteer for the GMHC (May or may not double with the role of Craig Donner).
Bruce Niles – “Marlborough Man” gay rights activist with model-handsome rugged good looks (based on Paul Popham).
Tommy Boatwright – a volunteer/activist and a Southerner (based on Roger MacFarlane).
Hiram Keebler – Mayor Koch’s assistant – gay but closeted.
David – man suffering with Kaposi Sarcoma (may or may not also play Hiram Keebler and Examining Doctor)
Examining Doctor – may or may not also play Hiram Keebler and David.
Two Orderlies – may or may not be cast within the company and may cover other roles.
